The 100,000 square foot Kraft (now Manhattan Construction) Headquarters building is home to a large construction company in Naples. A modern, clean-lined design was chosen that highlights and contrasts raw and finished construction materials. The project consists of two main buildings connected by a second floor bridge, containing the majority of executive suites, administrative offices, and estimating offices, and an additional auxiliary structure at the rear. The buildings flare out to create the illusion of perspective and scale as one arrives via the main entry boulevard.
The interior office layout encourages social interaction in various conference, meeting, and support rooms. Floating ceilings and material changes define spaces without the restriction of physical walls. Natural light reaches 95% of work areas with the use of glass walls in the interior corridors. Additionally, the carpet design uses way-finding techniques to guide visitors. Color selection for all interiors was guided by the company’s logo, and helped to further reinforce the company’s identity.
The main interior focal point is the powerful two-story entry lobby. An exposed concrete reception desk and glass enclosed staircase interact with the custom terrazzo flooring, stainless steel detailing, furniture, and lighting to create contrast, beauty, and drama.
