The David Lawrence Center, a community mental health facility, set out to rehab an aging 11,000-square-foot building with large swaths of abandoned spaces and failing infrastructure. Our team created a warm, inviting atmosphere and repurposed the building into a multi-function treatment center for a wide variety of clients. One wing was completely renovated into an office and group therapy center with an inviting new entry.
The team gutted and refinished another wing into a 28-day residential unit with updated bedrooms, bathrooms and common spaces, and a new outdoor Zen Garden. The existing children’s lobby was updated and expanded. Other improvements included a brand new roof surface, changes to the roof geometry, and equipment upgrades.
